The Forum on Climate Change, Disaster Risk, and Women: Why Gender Equality Matters will be held on 9:00 to 12:00pm, Friday 22^nd April 2011 at Yuyang Hotel, Beijing.

Held on Earth Day, the purpose of the event is to bring more attention to the importance of supporting gender equality and empowering women and girls to reduce the risks of climate change and disasters in China. Experts from the ILO, WHO, Ministry of Civil Affairs, Ministry of Water Resources, National Working Committee on Children and Women, and Lanzhou University will give presentations on the linkages between gender equality and climate change / disaster risk.
